National Interstate History

National Interstate Insurance Company (NIIC) was incorporated in 1989 and has prospered thanks to the vision and hard work of our dedicated people. Initially, our main focus was on passenger transportation vehicles only, which includes motor coaches, school buses, transit buses and limousines. Since then, we have expanded into additional product lines, including General Commercial and Transportation program for Hawaii Operations and Truck Programs, Recreation Vehicle Insurance, Marine Insurance, and Commercial Vehicle Insurance. We continue to focus on sound underwriting and stable growth. We have 300 plus employees in 5 offices across the country, including the corporate headquarters in Richfield, Ohio. NIIC and its affiliates are licensed in all states and the District of Columbia. NIIC is an independently operated subsidiary of Great American Insurance Company.

Dirt-track racing continues to grow, and we want to be part of that growth. The demographic of dirt racing fans fits well with our core personal lines products. We feel that we have a lot to offer race fans across the country.

Getting involved with the World of Outlaws is an excellent opportunity for National Interstate. We looked at numerous motorsports marketing options and, in the end, decided that working with the World of Outlaws would be the best value for us. The World of Outlaws Late Model and Sprint series both offer great drivers and passionate fans, and that is what we want to be associated with. Working with the World of Outlaws has been a very positive and collaborative process.

We are proud to be an Ohio-based company. Many of the events we will be sponsoring are in the State of Ohio. We feel our involvement with the World of Outlaws is an excellent way for us to support the many great Ohio drivers as they compete against the world-class drivers from the World of Outlaws.

Our involvement with dirt racing will also enable us to strengthen the National Interstate brand and provide greater value to our partner agents who distribute our products. We sell our products exclusively through independent insurance agents and brokers.

National Interstate is rated A (excellent), financial size (VIII) by A.M. Best. With annual double digit sales growth and a "track record" of consistent profitability since our inception in 1989, we continue to meet and exceed our goals.
